A day in the life of a Trainee Dispenser.

“Hi. I am Hassan. I have been at VIP as a student for the last 3 years. I am about to start my 1st year in pharmacy at the University of Brighton.

At VIP I am a trainee dispenser in charge of patients medication requests and tracking. This involves taking orders via phone call, app/website orders, through the voicemail system as well as the emails.
After placing orders I track the patient’s requests to make sure they are not pending more than 3 working days. If the request hasn’t been completed, I will send an email to the surgery asking why this is and let the patient know what to do next. I also help with the picking of medication for patients as well as putting away stock.

I am enjoying my work at VIP as it gives me a unique insight in patient care, patient expectations and managing them, and ultimately customer service. This work has inspired me to continue my work at the pharmacy and become a pharmacist.”
